What is Salvation?

Salvation is God’s free gift of rescue, forgiveness, and new life for humanity through Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches that every person has sinned, which means breaking God's perfect laws and being spiritually separated from Him (Romans 3:23). Because God is perfectly holy and just, the penalty for sin is spiritual death and eternal separation from Him (Romans 6:23). However, because God loves us deeply, He provided a rescue plan. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live a perfect life, die on the cross to pay the full price for our sins, and rise from the dead to defeat death forever (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Salvation means being saved from the penalty of our past wrongs, restored into a loving relationship with God right now, and promised a home in Heaven forever. It cannot be earned by doing good deeds or being a good person; it is received entirely by faith when a person trusts in Jesus alone as their Savior (Ephesians 2:8-9).

A Prayer of Salvation

If you want to accept this gift today, you can pray a simple prayer like this from your heart:

"Dear Heavenly Father, I know that I am a sinner and I need Your forgiveness. I believe that Your Son, Jesus Christ, died on the cross to pay for my sins and rose from the dead to give me life. I want to turn away from my sins and invite Jesus to come into my heart and life today. I accept Your free gift of salvation and trust You as my Lord and Savior. AMEN
